Presentazione della rete

EuGeStA è una rete di ricerca internazionale formata da ricercatori europei che lavorano, secondo le prospettive sviluppate negli studi di genere, nei diversi ambiti disciplinari dell’Antichità: letteratura, filosofia, storia, storia dell’arte, storia delle religioni, diritto, medicina, economia, archeologia…

Le Università affiliate e i loro responsabili sono attualmente:

Bâle (Henriette Harich), Berne (Thomas Späth), Exeter (Rebecca Langlands), Fribourg (Véronique Dasen), Lille (Jacqueline Fabre-Serris e Florence Klein), Manchester (Alison Sharrock), Munich (Therese Fuhrer), Open University (James Robson), Paris 1 (Violaine Sebillotte-Cuchet), Toronto (Alison Keith), Turin (Federica Bessone) e l’UCLA (Giulia Sissa). 

Le attività svolte sono di due tipi:

  • organizzazione di colloqui a rotazione nelle varie Università affiliate

  • animazione di un sito web che mira a promuovere contatti e scambi tra ricercatori, dottorandi e studenti.

  • Il convegno conclusivo  “Donne e violenza in età romana Radici storiche di un problema attuale” del progetto PRIN #EtiamEgo – Violence against women in ancient Rome: historical perspectives and symbolic constructions,  si terrà dal 25 al 27 settembre 2025 a Torino, presso l'Accademia delle Scienze e il Dipartimento di Studi Storici dell'Università.

  • The call for papers for the third workshop on Women in the Archaeology of Greece is now open:
    https://www.efa.gr/call-for-papers-the-great-women-behind-the-great-men/ (deadline: 20 December 2024).
    The topic chosen for the 2025 edition is “The Great Women Behind the Great Men”.
    The workshop, which will take place at the French School at Athens on 12-13 March 2025, is organized jointly by the French School at Athens and the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Greece

  • The Ama-Mater research team is organizing an international conference that will take place at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille (France) on the 11th, 12th and 13th of June 2025. The conference is about " Ancient Mothers and Motherhood: representations, practices and reappropriations from Antiquity to the present day". The event is intended to be multidisciplinary and diachronic. Returns are due by 20/12/24 at the latest.
